C. Ray Carter

C. Ray Carter, is an Instructor for the Cyber Security pathway offered at the STEM Academy. In addition to being an adjunct professor for Central Virginia Community College he is a network and security consultant for small to medium-sized businesses related to Windows servers and workstations. He can also perform cyber security assessments and forensic investigations for these same organizations and implement measures to protect their network resources.

C. Ray Carter earned his Associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems form Central Virginia Community College, his Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Franklin University and his master’s degree in Cyber Security from Liberty University. He and his wife have one son, who graduated from Lynchburg College in 2017.

One interesting fact about his is that he is a former competitive bodybuilder. He placed second in his weight class in the 1988 Eastern United States Bodybuilding Championship and the top five of a national qualifier. He still train several nights a week, but his competition days are behind him.
