Jen Armstrong, MS, LAT, ATC
Jen has served as an Adjunct Instructor in Health Sciences at CVCC for the past 3.5 years. Her courses taught include: Principles of Nutrition and Human Development (2017-Present), Medical Terminology (2018-Present), First Aid and CPR (Fall 2017), and Personal and Community Health (Spring 2018; 2017).
Jen’s full time job is Head Athletic Trainer and Teacher at E.C. Glass High School. This is her 14th year at Glass and 18th year as a Certified Athletic Trainer. Jen teaches Athletic Training 1 & 2 and provides healthcare services to over 750 athletes on 36 teams. She proudly serves as a Preceptor for both University of Lynchburg and Liberty University athletic training students. Jen is in her 3rd year serving as Chair for the Virginia Athletic Trainers’ Association (VATA) Secondary School Athletic Trainers’ Committee. She is also a member of the VHSL Sports Medicine Advisory Committee.
Jen graduated from Waynesburg University in 2002, with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and an Exercise Science minor. In 2003, she earned her MS in Athletic Training from California University of Pennsylvania. In 2010, she obtained a Post-Graduate Professional VA teaching license with endorsements in Health/PE K-12 and Sports Medicine.
Prior to moving to Lynchburg, Jen was the Assistant Athletic Trainer / Instructor at Urbana University (OH) for 3 years and grew up outside of Pittsburgh, PA. In her free time, Jen enjoys spending time with family, being at the beach, and spreading awareness about kidney disease and organ donation. Jen was a living kidney donor in 2012 and loves sharing the story and educating people about the process!
