Junior Student Orientation

Thursday, August 10th, 2023  8 AM – 2 PM

Orientation for all  JUNIORS at the STEM Academy (STUDENTS ONLY)

Location: Main Campus CVCC, Framatome Building, 2nd floor in room 6201

During STEM Academy Orientation, we will do some group-building activities, review the junior schedule, tour the STEM Academy, and learn about policies and procedures for 2023-2024.

Following the STEM Academy Orientation, juniors will participate in the CVCC New Student Orientation, which will begin at 10 AM and end at 2 PM. Students will have an opportunity to meet the CVCC administration, learn about financial aid and accounting, CVCC Technologies, Tour the campus, and visit the library and bookstore. 

From 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM, there will be a welcome picnic with games, food trucks, ice cream, a DJ, a dunk tank, and a tug of war, and opportunities to win prizes and participate in a scavenger hunt

All paperwork will be due along with the student fee no later than Tuesday, August 15th, 2023

Student Fees for 2023-2024 are $50 and can be paid by cash, check, or on the STEM App.   Click here to pay

Junior students will receive t-shirts, hoodies, CVCC ID Cards, and USB drives on the first day of in-person classes.

Textbook & Access Code Information

Students in Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell, and Lynchburg will pick up their materials on the first day of classes on August 21st, 2023.  Textbooks & access codes are provided to you by your Division School Board.

Students taking additional classes at CVCC (English, history, government) will need to obtain their materials prior to the first day of classes on August 21st, 2023.  Students can access their class schedule in MyCVCC in SIS.  Materials may be obtained at the CVCC Bookstore or they may check out alternate college textbook sites (i.e., Chegg.com, Amazon textbooks, etc.).
